I finally completed this site. I haven't worked on it (besides adding posts) for about half a year, but today I got the last 10% done. It was basically just some spacing/sizing issues, fixing fonts, and that sort of thing. And I hadn't even touched the Comment pages. But it all looks pretty good now.

About the only thing you'll probably notice is a slightly cleaner look to everything. It's much more solid now. Well, maybe it's just something that web designers would notice. Not that this site is really spectacular design or anything...

Ah nuts to that, I'm just going to close this post before I dig myself into a deeper hole.

About a week ago, a member of Convergence (the guild I'm in) announced that he'd have to take some time off for some sort of military issue. Another member remarked, "I hope they realize that now when the Scourge invade the US we will be woefully unprepared."

This is a fascinating site with tons of info and screenshots detailing the development process of Starcraft. It's pretty cool to see how the game comes together in the various different versions. I had no idea that it was originally created with the Warcraft 2 graphics engine.

Did you know that the Zerg were originally known as the Nightmarish Invaders? Yeesh! Some other interesting stuff: Valkyries were originally going to be in the original game, but were pushed to the expansion. Drones and SCVs could fly. Firebats could start forest fires. Each Zerg building had its own set of larvae.

So, I was going through the model files from the game a few days ago, and came across the model for the Fleshbeast. It's not textured, not animated, but it's looking pretty interesting so far. You can check out the concept art and bio here.

This is pretty cool. It's a research paper called "'Alone Together?' Exploring the Social Dynamics of Massively Multiplayer Online Games". There's a lot of neat info, as well as some very interesting graphs of data that I haven't encountered before.

Oh, and I'm still unable to play. I'll be returning to the game soon though. Hopefully in the next couple weeks.

In case anyone cares, I'm currently unable to play WoW because my school shut off my internet connection. Something about "file sharing" and "third violation" (that they know about...mwa ha ha). I'll be back as soon as I can.

I frequently go to the Taco Bell in my area (Duluth, MN) because TB is the only place where you can get Mountain Dew Baja Blast. It's kinda a strange, lime-ish version of Dew that I'm hopelessly addicted to.

But sometimes I don't want a taco. Sometimes I'm just thirsty for some BB. So I go to the drive-through, order an XL BB, (hope you're following my acronyms) and when I get to the window, they give it to me, free of charge. Nice huh?

Wrong. I'm a Minnesotan. Getting free stuff makes us feel uncomfortable and guilty. I've done this 3 or 4 times, fully intending to pay, and each time they just hand it to me.

So I came up with a plan. I'd order some Cinnamon Twists along with my Baja Blast, to make sure that they would charge me for it. But lo and behold, they gave me that for free TOO. The drink is like $1.39, the twists $.79. That's over $2 of stuff, free.

They're very nice, but I don't think I'll ever go back unless I'm ordering a full meal.
