I feel the way you do about Black Morass, except with slabs. i hate that place so much. Ive run it about 12 times, each time the group broke up and i STILL dont have that flippin key part! >,<
Yea, I was doing SLabs a bunch recently, but then I suddenly realized that I had no reason to. I had my key fragment, and there's not really any loot in there that I needed that I didn't already have. The only reason why I was still doing it was to get the Lower City rep for the Gavel of Unearthed Secrets (and to unlock Heroic Mana Tombs for Consortium rep, but I don't have to worry about that in 2.3), but that's going to take way too long, and I'm better off just doing SH a few times for the dagger that drops off O'mrogg.
But I've got nothing against that dungeon, although I think I'm definitely due for a break from it.
The Prot Pally was my alt, Lightwalker, and yes, that IS the way to go in Shattered Halls. Who needs CC when you can lay down the consecrates and the entire pull hates you forever? Pew pew pew!
I can do the same thing on the Demon Hunters outside the Black Temple, round up a dozen or two and they kill themselves on my Holy Shield while standing in a chain of Consecrates. Good times.
Regarding Black Morass... I've found that runs there are very hit and miss: either your group is 100% incompetant and the run is a nightmare wipefest, or you have a solid group that makes it look easier than it is. You should try again with a "better" group, the fact that it isn't "walk into room, pick off groups of mobs, repeat until boss" makes it a lot of fun - when you're not wiping all the time.
Steamvaults is also fun, just get a Warrior or Druid to tank. 3 Casters per group with Fear and Silence = Pally Tank rendered useles. Heroic SV is a great way to get Badges since it's by far one of the easiest Heroics. (Lots of solid Cenarion Expedition Rep rewards from the Quartermaster in Cenarion Refuge as well.)
